Jolly Archers are pleased to announce that the Coaching Group have agreed to provide a duty coach on duty at Jubilee Park every Saturday (weather permitting) from 10 – 12. Members are welcome to approach the duty coach during those times for help with shooting technique, equipment checks etc. Indoor coaching sessions will be organised at Victory Hall, Somersham throughout the winter months. Details of dates/times will be issued by the Lead Coach.

Please note: Coaching at Jubilee Park will now take place on the Coaching range. No coaching should be undertaken on the main range.

The club coaches will also provide individual coaching sessions at times to suit the archer and the coach (see below).

The Club Coaches are:

Gill and Steve Millward - are County Coaches with over 40 years’ experience between them. This has been gained at all levels including club, county, and regional squad coaching both here in the UK and overseas. Although Steve is regarded as a recurve specialist, he is happy to coach all bow types and archers and bases much of his coaching on the Korean system rather than the traditional UK methods. Gill specialises in coaching juniors and ladies within the AGB community and is happy to coach most bow styles except compound.

Both Steve & Gill also have considerable experience coaching archers with disabilities, as both are members of the coaching staff for the British Wheelchair Archery Association, based at Stoke Mandeville, the home of the Paralympics.

Mark Skinns

Mark is a Level 2 coach with over 8 years experience of coaching archers. He is happy to coach all bow styles but specialises in traditional bows.

Marion Van Dalen

Marion has been a Level 1 coach since 2015 and has been involved in running several beginners’ courses.

Thomas Stiles

Tom is an ambulatory wheelchair user now who does all of his shooting sat in a chair. He has been shooting since 2012 and shoots compound but has previous experience shooting recurve both bare-bow and olympic style. Tom has been coaching since 2017 and is currently a level 1 coach and is working towards the goal of intending to complete his level 2.
